On 23rd November 2025, our Club joined forces with The Basset Hound Club of Wales to hold a Breed Appreciation Day (BAD). It was open to all who were interested in the Basset Hound and wanted to learn more. CC awarding Judges were also encouraged to join us as we have now been put on to Category 3 again by the RKC. It was an opportunity to learn more about why this has happened and how Judges can help the breed for the future. We had two very knowledgeable and well-respected speakers, Mrs Tina Watkins, our breed health  co-ordinator and Miss Lauren Armstrong, who also sits on the Basset Hound Health Group. A live exhibit was also shown on the day. we even had the Chairman of the Royal Kenel Club, Mr Ian Seath and his wife, Sue, jpin us on the day. Below are some photos capturing the events of the day.
